“A book so vigorous and preternaturally delightful that a stylish brio enlivens even its weather reports. In a big, sexy, bravura novel that is destined to be surpassingly popular, Mr Faber has set forth monumental ambitions."
New York Times on The Crimson Petal and the White

Faber’s first book Some Rain Must Fall and Other Stories was published in 1998 by Canongate, who has published all his subsequent seven works – Under the Skin, The Hundred and Ninety-Nine Steps, The Courage Consort, The Fahrenheit Twins and Other Stories, The Apple, The Crimson Petal and the White and most recently The Fire Gospel, which was published inn 2008. This session explored his successful, ongoing relationship with Jamie Byng, Canongate publisher, and examined, amongst other things, the influence that author and publisher can have on one another.

The event was chaired by Jenny Brown, director of Jenny Brown Associates, not only Scotland’s largest and most influential literary agency, but one of the most admired in the UK.
