Robertson's extraordinary success over the past few years has culminated in critical and popular acclaim with his most recent, The Testament of Gideon Mack. He read from this title, chosen as one of Richard and Judy's book club titles earlier this year, and discussed the work that Irvine Welsh describes as "dealing with some of life's big themes: mental illness, death, (im)mortality and the way history and culture can potentially deceive as well as illuminate." There was also be an opportunity for questions from the audience and a book signing. Chaired by Ian Campbell, Professor of Scottish Literature at the University of Edinburgh.
