Edinburgh Reads: Ian Rankin 50th

  • IanRankin

“Rebus was ‘born’ while I was a student in Edinburgh, during which time I haunted George IV Bridge, and especially its libraries and bookshops. It is no accident that I chose the Central Library for the climax of that first Rebus novel and it is a pleasure to make the return journey to celebrate my 50th birthday.”
IAN RANKIN

Central Library hosted this very special Edinburgh Reads celebration event for Ian Rankin’s 50th birthday. Rankin talked about his life and work with literary agent, and old pal, Jenny Brown. Was fizz and birthday cake all round.

6:30pm Tuesday 27 April 2010
Central Library, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh

The event was FREE and complimentary drinks were served (sponsored by Scottish Book Trust)
