The Bridge Readings

"There was a good feeling to the Bridge Readings event, strongly atmospheric and with an enthusiastic audience; I enjoyed it."

JAMES KELMAN

The Bridge Readings is a series of literary events that started in Edinburgh, the world's first UNESCO City of Literature, in 2006. Produced by Helen Loughlin, they offer a rare chance to focus on the work of a contemporary author as they discuss their processes, influences, confluences, and the rest.

The series has featured writers inlcuding A L Kennedy, Alasdair Gray, Laura Hird, Iain Banks, Christopher Brookmyre, Denise Mina, Ian Rankin, Jenni Calder, James Robertson, Louise Welsh, Ian Nimmo, Jackie Kay, Allan Guthrie, Janet Paisley, Kevin Williamson, Meaghan Delahunt, and James Meek.

"The Bridge Readings is a great, rolling mini-festival of year-long literary quality and absolutely not to be missed - long may they continue." IAIN BANKS
